A lady from the Water company knocked on the door and said they'd come to change the water meter. I asked why. I was told it's because mine is 10 years old and they replace them after ten years. I'm told it took ten minutes. They left a card in my mailbox.showing the meter reading.
I received two printed annual reports for a recruitment company (2004 / 2003) which will form part of my research project. I'm interested in how they turned 5 years of losses into a profit and comparing this with the larger company I'm using for Assignment 1 ( and whom I have contracted for twice) who are seemingly making money. There's so much money tied up in intangibles and goodwill and operating leases in respect of these companies that I should be able to find quite a bit to think about. International Accounting Standard 38 seems to dwell on some of these matters.
Having enrolled in the Quicken Professional Partners program I finally installed the "$4000" of software this evening. It took about 4 hours. I'm now in a position to start learning the software which should be up to date as I've installed Service Pack 2.
I've spruced up the spreadsheet for Assignment 1. I didn't intend to do this until Friday. I'm now curious about the accounting treatment for Intellectual Property such as databases for "Knowledge Management".
I received a letter from Centrelink. This doesn't say much and is nothing to worry about.
(yawn).... I think I'll go to bed.....
