Testing new high speed plan... [Oct. 30th, 2004|02:16 pm]

[Current Mood |lazylazy]

Web pages load much faster under my new plan which ups the speed from 256kbps to 1500kps (kilobits per second).

I've just downloaded some software (Nokia PC Suite for Cellular Phones) and the download speed averaged about 150 to 160 KiloBytes per second as against an average of 25 KiloBytes per second under the old (more expensive) plan.

That's a considerable improvement for $20 less per month. The change from a fixed IP address will also defer targeted hijacking of my machine which I suspect has slowed the machine down in the past.

My IP address is now dynamic.

Although I have to log on using a user name and password this is transparent as it's stored in the memory of the ADSL modem/router.
