This verse called "Thoughts" came to mind when reading poetry by elsibeth yesterday and mentioned in my reply to Elsie. It's very olde and I note that I have some olde verse archived from those ancient and perhaps more blissful days. I may review it. Some of it brings back memories both good and bad and indeed some quite horrid.
I thought of you at lunch today
you made a pathway to my mind
and part of you was part of me
of an ethereal drifting kind.
The way you think quite hazy;
some thoughts not always clear
for where there could be peace
I found gentle hints of fear.
But then the thoughts departed,
my lunch pushing thinking out,
as cheese and pickle sandwiches
replaced my hopes, your fears;
.... and doubt.
