QUEENSLAND child protection advocate Hetty Johnston is moving south to tackle Sin City head on.
Following her defeat over Bill Henson's artworks, the founder of the Brisbane-based Bravehearts group yesterday signalled her plan to base herself in Sydney for at least two months.
The Queenslander of the Year finalist, who has two grown-up children, said the temporary move would focus attention on child abuse prevention, early intervention and funding for such programs. She would target the Iemma Government and the Coalition on the issues while retired Supreme Court judge James Wood inquires into child protection services.
NSW Community Services minister Kevin Greene said he would happily meet Ms Johnston, adding the Bravehearts group was welcome in his office.
