Henson photos offensive - Scipione
May 28, 2008 12:21pm
THE NSW Police Commissioner has described Bill Henson's controversial photographs of naked children as "entirely objectionable".
Charges are expected to be laid after police last week seized 20 Henson photographs of a naked girl and boy, believed to be aged 12 and 13, from Sydney's Roslyn Oxley9 gallery.
NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione today said he had a strong personal reaction to the nature of the seized images.
"Before I'm a police commissioner, I am a father and I've got some very strong views on this and it's probably sensible for me to separate them from where we are at with this investigation," Mr Scipione told Macquarie Radio.
"My own personal view is one that is not inconsistent with those police that actually went out and took possession of those particular pictures.
"I find it entirely offensive. I certainly found the images objectionable and it's probably best I leave it there."
Mr Scipione said police were still awaiting advice on whether charges should be laid.
I call you a HYPOCRITE Mr. Scipone just as I found the previous Commissioner of Police (Maroney) a hypocrite when he made a similar statements back in 2004. This is subject to correspondence with both Kevin Rudd (who is seemingly unable to answer ) and is included in a complaint ( which as far as I am concerned is still active ) with the Commonwealth Ombudsman's Department.
ALLEGED POLICE CORRUPTION IN NEW SOUTH WALES
According to the previous Federal Attorney General the Hon. Philip Ruddock MP the New South Wales Polce are responsible for enforcing all aspects of current censorship legislation. It seems however the police are more interested in picking on art galleries than prosecuting (state wide) ALL violations of the current censorship laws of the State of New South Wales which as a number of people have explained includes the illegal sale (but not purchase) of videos of rape and has included bestiality... oh and federally "X" rated material that the current Attorney General of New South Wales has described as a "serious offence" (New South Wales Hansard).
prior to the white Christian ethic being the norm in this country the indigenous people of New South Wales took nakedness in their stride - it had something to do with the climate and they hadn't heard about Christian guilt
