Always room at their table (Penrith Press)..
Tuesday 29 April, 2008 12:01am
During the first week of April, the kitchen fed lunch to between 58 and 73 men and about 30 women every week day between 90 and 100 people.
The numbers swell occasionally, often for no apparent reason, but they rarely ebb.
It is open for free lunch from 11.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Donations can be made to Penrith Community Kitchen, 488-490 High St, between 10am and 1.30pm Monday to Friday.
It swelled on at least one occasion when my painter friend from BlackHeath asked to be taken there during NEIS training.
I didn't need to eat there but I believe he did.
