On the prospects of an Australian Republic...

"NOTICE: This form is not working because of some complication with the cgi script within a subdomain... until I get to the bottom of it, please email me direct on senator.lundy@aph.gov.au with your thoughts on these matters".

Note to follow up with an email to the former shadow minister for Communications to check with Senator Conroy with regards to this. He appears to have solutions for almost everything !

With regards to Grocery Prices in the ACT....

I note the survey states "Keep up to date with the latest grocery prices by checking this page at the start of each week."

Note to follow up with an email to the former shadow minister for Communications to check with Treasurer Wayne Swan with regards to this. I doubt if he knows much about the price of a can of baked beans (850 grams - generic) in Werrington.- They have jumped - from $1.75 (October 2007 the date of Senator Lundy's last survey) to $2.00 (post election) and now $2.15 - although the price of an MFC supermarket franchise Werrington loaf is only $1.60 - up from $1.30 prior to the election.

I guess bread prices are higher in Canberra due to the relative affluence of those serving the government - but there again Werrington isn't on Millionaire's Row and bread prices in Mt. Druitt in the major supermarkets are higher than el cheapo bread at Werrington MFC.

I have an email from the gizmo telephone crowd suggesting I "try again" and they will attempt to remember that I shouldn't be blocked. Trevor has noted that the Penzance number I purchased never worked properly anway. It did Trevor. It did. I called it at least three times from Skype and my POTS phone rang and when I picked up the receiver it was me on the other end but routed through Penzance.. (sigh)
