The following anonymous posting to a conversation was deleted by an (interesting and no doubt complex) LJ user as it wasn't signed.

"There are shops which sell books by the yard, for those who want full bookcases to line their walls but don't particularly care what's on them."

I believe controversial or intimidating entries are no doubt worthy of deletion although I cop quite a bit of abuse in discussion areas and some mailing lists and take this with angst but understanding that if I post controversial material I can expect some degree of "flak".

Deleting all unsigned anonymous entries on the basis that they are unsigned is in my view a form of short-sighted censorship.
