February 12th, 2004

Wednesday 11th. February 2004

My short term contract ended (work complete).

At 12.50 pm (Thursday ) I awoke and lit a small candle in remembrance of mum and played Puccini's Madam Butterfly which contains a song which mum labelled as being one of her favourites years ago ("One Fine Day") which played a 1.30 am Thursday morning (About 2.30 pm Wednesday UK time).

I let the record finish and played another short (but more modern version) of "One Fine Day" bowed my head to the candle in the kitchen; thought a few thoughts and went to bed.

I Spent a few minutes in the cathedral in town about lunch time today.

I don't do prayers - simply remembrances.

Ken sent a short account of the funeral today.
The flowers I sent arrived.

The Universe is a big place.
We have a small part to play in it's development.

With every ending there is a beginning.

I am now a student..

The study material for the first subject of the Master's Degree arrived today. I went into Sydney to see if the textbook was on sale. I believe I purchased the only available copy. This is a Management Accounting module. Leafing through the book I note that the principle is based on Darwin's theory of the most useful idea succeeding, which seems to mean that the course is critical of everything I've learnt as "truth" (up to now).

20% of the marks will be from on-line Bulletin Board involvement (Internet).
30% of the marks will be from two assignments (multiple questions/problems)

50% of the marks from an examination in June.

I've just registered on-line for Internet access. This takes about 3 hours.

Official study starts on the 1st. March and ends of the 14th. June with an exam shortly aftewards.

Assignments are due in May (two assignments).
