I watched the first of several episodes of a TV epic about Napoleon Bonaparte on SBS tonight (wide screen stereo). SBS have "done" Napoleon several times and Channel 31 (a strange channel that isn't even listed in TV guides) has presented films about Napoleon (some in black and white and in French).
I would suggest that my feelings about Napoleon are much that same as about Adolf Hitler.
They have both commanded too much viewing time.
I noticed all the actors spoke with a French accent although the dialog was in English.
As the actors/actresses are obviously native English speakers I can only speculate on how much time they spent developing a suitable accent.
I have purchased the 12 part series called "Jazz" on DVD.
