The politicians were there - at least Karen Chijoff (Liberal) was. She spent most of her time in the shade while the Trade Unions distributed lots and lots of orange "Your Rights at Work - worth fighting for" bags (which were the only freebies at the Festival). The would be Hon Ms. Chijoff sat in the shade. The final pictures in the set include Ms. Chijoff (without and with balloons). She drove off in the yellow VW. The second picture in the set is a typical street in Werrington County.

There was a political debate on TV last night between Kevin Rudd and John Howard. There was some alleged tampering with "the worm" (recording audience feedback) by the Australian Press Council which allegedly pulled the plug on the broadcast leaving Channel 9 with the only option of taking it's feed from Sky Television - including "the worm" which favoured Kevin Rudd. It has been reported on the news this morning that the Prime Minister's department had nothing to do with this....
