From my January 4th. Entry:

My plans at the moment involve continued study in the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment (which will keep me occupied). I am still awaiting results for the "Property Investment Analysis" subject and also some news with regards to my application for an exemption in the subject "Financial Analysis and Valuation" (based on the fact I completed a similar subject at Master Degree level - which is "higher" than a Graduate Diploma). The results for "Property Investment Analysis" will be online on January 15th. and I'm told that the board are flat out with exemptions and hence my application has been delayed until the middle of January

I have just received a phone call from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and my claim for an exemption in the core subject C2" Financial Analysis and Valuation" has been approved. It is now marked as such on the Student Result Page while the result for "Property Investment Analysis" is marked "Result in Progress".

The exemption is only of use if I chose to proceed to the completion of this 8 unit course. There are also options to "pull out" after 4 subjects and take a "Graduate Certificate" (in which case the exemption is also useful) or (with a credit average) proceed to the 12 unit Master of Applied Finance and Investment.

This is basically "Professional Development" which I am required to engage in. The subject Property Investment Analysis was useful (pass or not) as I was employed in the Listed Property Trust sector for seven months (www.stockland.com.au). Other subjects are interesting in their own right.
