Xmas 2005 is over. For me it's been a "time of rest" albeit in a far too warm (hot) environment. I have xmas cards from the pharmacist, a New South Wales politician and the agency I am employed by (until mid January at least).
I had piece of paper inviting those at a loose end to a xmas day luncheon at some church hall in Mt. Druitt. I was thinking about it but got up at 10.30 and after ham and eggs for breakfast didn't fancy the journey.
I have a neighbour. I have had numerous neighbours since I moved here in 1996/97. I'll admit I thought the place next door was empty but I was given a small christmas present - two glasses with candles which I may light on New Year's Day (which has more meaning for me). The lady (who looked Lebanese) said she had been there for twelve months.
This rest period is most welcome. Twelve months of hard study, six months on "intensive assistance" and six months in the temporary role I'm in now have tired me considerably, although "mum" always said "Son. You've always been tired."
I wish bro' Alan good vibes with Jupiter on his bumpy 60 mile rides for 10 minutes of radiotherapy :-)
