Saturday I was exhausted as the week has been spent *earning* money - flying by the seat of my pants on the first month of the new fiscal year. I managed a trip to St. Marys and spent $13.50 on a haircut (hair gets a bit long from time to time). This was more than the $8 normally spent when unemployed but that hairdresser had so many customers I went elsewhere.
Centrelink contacted me and asked me to ring them for "compliance" reasons (to check if I'm rorting the system in some way). I'm not rorting the system in any way so that passed with a simple "yes" "yes" and "that's ok then". If I manage another two weeks in the current contract role I will be deemed to be "employed" and when the contract ends will have to re-register and follow the procedures.
Today I dragged myself to the downstairs (Windows 2000) computer and started work on the three case studies that make up Assignment 1 due on the 29th. August. I have fleshed out the relevant points in italic form and hope to convert the points into sentences next weekend. I would like to get this assignment away earlier than 29th. August as I have to find time for further study and indeed a research essay due in October.
I noted Alan (bro' in Cornwall) has rediscovered Skype and the new Skype Alan is now listed as a contact. I was too busy contemplating the debt/equity situation with regards to small enterprise to even think of hitting the green "call" button.
I noted Sharon (Shaz) has made a few postings to Usenet saying she'd be in contact. I did a domain name registry search on her old domain name (now defunct) and rang her in Brisbane. Shaz is alive. I am alive. The world is still spinning.
I note that Forte have finally released Version 3 of "Agent" - the news/mail reader I use. I'm not sure that I'm game to install it until I know the consequences. It isn't backward compatible with either Version 2 or Version 1.93 and they have taken an enormous amount of time getting it coded, tested and released.
Blessings to those that need them :-)
