I have located a review of the book co-authored by John Cain (former Premier of Victoria) and John Hewitt Australian Universities Review Volume 46, Number 2, 2004 page 40

The book examines in some detail how the University of Melbourne tried to exploit its perceived competitive advantage through a number of entrepreneurial ‘experiments’ all of which have failed to deliver what they promised. The authors make a clear and compelling case that these commercial experiments have not only been financial and educational failures, but more importantly, have resulted in the breakdown of governance responsibilities of the University of Melbourne Council, and accountability in the use of hundreds of millions of dollars of public funds and financial probity

referred to in The Australian August 15th 2008

The court was told Hewitt downloaded and stored naked images and videos of children aged between four and 17, which included children performing sexual acts.

Hewitt, who has a PhD and has studied at Harvard and Boston universities in the US, tendered a reference from Mr Cain to the court.

Judge Frank Gucciardo said the images abused, violated and degraded the children shown.

"They are disgusting and offensive and can only be described as evil," Judge Gucciardo said.

As I get older there is much about the world I don't fully understand.
