|Friday .. end of the "working week"...

In my journal dated 22nd July I wrote..
I have sent a card and letter to Sandra (who just lost her husband) as Trevor thinks this would be appreciated.
I have an airletter from Sandra received today. She also tells of "a thing about trees". She notes that she met Trevor and Alan after requesting the address from mum when she was visiting the area and comments on a number of things including cousin Audrey. While Trevor believes Sandra is connected to the Internet she notes this isn't correct and that Trevor doesn't know her that well. Sandra seemingly uses a computer but mainly for word processing and would be frightened of the Internet as some scumbag might steal her money or defraud her. She notes that she remembers me only as Robert - which is understandable as that is my name.
I had to visit Centrelink yesterday as they hadn't paid me my newstart allowance due to the fact that I returned the form early on account of having earned income. They printed off a duplicate form (the next is due on October 10th) and it was entered into the computer and I was paid today. The Centrelink employee said I was lucky to have found some work at my age (sigh).
I then attended DEN where there was a group session regarding the main reasons that people lose jobs. This group discussion lasted from 9:15 to 12 noon. Don of Den noted that he thought I was conscientious. Most of his clients are into manual type work so he isn't too sure how to deal with my case as he has no experience with people of my background.
I sent some emails to Kevin Rudd (the leader of the opposition) and the Shadow Attorney General with a copy to the Shadow Minister for Communication on Wednesday asking about ALP policy on the Community Liaison Officer Scheme under a possible ALP government and whether there would be greater co-ordination between the Australian Media and Content Authority (which supervises the Internet) and the Attorney General's department noting there doesn't appear to be a co-ordinated approach under a Liberal government in this regard and quoting the Hon. Philip Ruddock MP with regards to these matters.
I also sent a few items to the Chaser team (who have been in the news recently regarding the APEC fiasco) There's nothing personal in there - just a few public items they can (if they wish) do whatever they consider appropriate with (or inappropriate as they case may be)
I note Kirribilli House is open to the public on Sunday. It might be interesting to have a look around.
Kirribilli House Open Day...
The public will have a rare opportunity to tour the official residences of the Prime Minister John Howard and the Governor-General Michael Jeffery on Sunday 29 October.
